The Pritzker Legal Research Center, Northwestern University School of Law seeks applications from highly motivated individuals for the full-time position of Electronic Research, Technology, and Instructional Services Librarian.  The Electronic Research, Technology, and Instructional Services Librarian serves as part of a team of reference librarians under the supervision of the Director of the Law Library.  The Electronic Research, Technology, and Instructional Services Librarian will play a leading role in managing, integrating, and marketing electronic and Internet information resources into the Pritzker Legal Research Center's collection and services, and in coordinating electronic research training for faculty and students. The position requires considerable teaching duties, both in classroom settings and on a one-to-one basis.
Qualifications: JD and previous law library experience required. ALA-accredited Master's degree in Library Science strongly preferred, although candidates with Master's level degrees in similar areas of study, including but not limited to Information Systems, Information Science, or Computer Science, may also be considered.  Must have demonstrated knowledge of electronic information resources and be able to provide leadership in evaluating and integrating these resources in the Pritzker Legal Research Center's collection and services. Experience working with content management systems and with current technologies and software used to support online research.  Knowledge of digital library tools, standards, and formats, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and XML. Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet applications.
The successful candidate will also have a firm commitment to a high level of service to faculty and students in a demanding academic environment. Demonstrated ability to contribute to making the library hospitable and responsive to the needs of the law school community, including excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a variety of people. Ability to respond effectively to changing needs and priorities.
Salary: Negotiable, depending upon qualifications.
Located in the heart of the Gold Coast on Northwestern's Chicago campus, the Pritzker Legal Research Center supports the research and instructional needs of more than 900 J.D. and LL.M. students and 90 residential faculty of the Northwestern University School of Law.  The library combines comprehensive research collections with an energetic and team-oriented staff.
