Per my recommendation we recently bought the Panasonic V720,
a consumer model for our trial techniques [no budget for anything at pro level really]

The camcorder claims a direct Youtube online streaming I did not test the feature yet, it came in last week.
For $549.00 this may be your answer.

Hi Nefeli,
I total get what your getting at here and I could probably get it to
work, but I'm hoping for a simpler approach for this particular
application. I need to be able to put a laptop and camera into a room
and fire them up, streaming the video to YouTube.
