Gary, as always... thank you for the help.

ITunes U to Blackboard is an option for me... but much of my video is event based, and not always tied to a class. Some of it I would want public, and some of it I would not.

But, thanks again... I'm going to look into Panopto.

Peter

We actually had a meeting with an ITunes U rep here yesterday. They said they are getting away from directory services and moving solely to Apple ID. So unless you went thru a course management system like Blackboard, which they noted, it sounds like that won't resolve your AD authentication issues.

The only other thing I could think of would be a solution like a lecture capture system Panopto with a Unison license, which allows you to upload video to their system. Panopto has AD authentication (we are looking to see if we can/want to implement AD authentication w Panopto in the summer).

I have 6 years of videos (about 5Tb of .avi files) stored on my server, and 2nd copies of them dumbed down into .wmv files for streaming on a windows media server. The quality of the .wmv files is awful compared to today's standards. I'd like to take the .avi files, and convert them to a more efficient format - thinking mp4 and find a new way to host them.

My ideal would be a hosted solution, that would have a tie back for AD authentication and group support. Secondarily would be a solution that at least has some access control to some degree. Does such a thing exist? Does anyone do anything similar? And if so... would you be so kind as to share your knowledge.

I know Itunes U is a potential solution with a tie back to blackboard. Is there anything that ties back to AD?

Much appreciation in advance.

Anyone using Qippa? I have been working with it and it is a great research tool and pdf manager. But the bluebook cite system is broken. Other cite styles work, just not bluebook. I am wondering if bluebook worked in previous versions.

Thanks,

Ed
