We have generally used Panasonic Toughbooks in the past (from the CF-W2 to the CF-W8 models). Our driving considerations were:

· Very long battery life (6-8 hours while in the plane)

· Light weight (preferably 2-4 lbs.)

· Must include an internal CD/DVD drive

· Full featured laptop with physical keyboard and standard OS

However, the price tag was a bit steep (often $2500 +) and hands-on warranty support is only via shipping it back to Panasonic.

This led to us to recently switch to the Toshiba Protégé (we currently purchase the 930). This is only our first year with the Protégé, but so far so good!

Subject: [teknoids] Portable Printer

Greetings, Noids,

I have a faculty traveling to Africa this Fall. I'm trying to purchase an ultra portable and perhaps even a battery operated printer. Can anyone recommend one?

Thanks in advance.
